American Tradition Custom Homes was created on the belief that if you focus on building a very high quality custom home and treat people right you don’t need an expensive sales team or costly warranty program. We simply build homes with exceptional foundations, framing and finish. All partners are hands on and involved in each home, each and every step of the way. We focus on custom homes and custom homes only. We are not remodelers, track home builders, pool builders or landscapers. We feel it’s our obligation to focus on our custom homes and provide the personal attention to each homeowner that we’ve promised.

We are conservative in our building process & in our financial responsibility
We rarely build an inventory home. We don’t buy and hold on to multiple lots and try to resell them to other families. This keeps our overhead low. If you need a lot we will help you purchase one directly from a private seller or a professional real estate agent. As we build homes for families we keep separate bank accounts and do not co-mingle funds. This way each homeowner knows their funds goes directly for their home. We will provide time for each homeowner to view all final invoices and banks statements on their home. These practices keep us financially strong and create a high level of trust with our homeowners.
Steve Belknap, the founder and President of ATCH
Steve started building a basis for operating a successful business after he completed five years active duty in the US Air Force and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University. He further completed a year of course work towards a MBA degree from Wayland Baptist U. and Texas Tech U. After an honorable discharge from the US Air Force he worked as a Financial Advisor for Prudential Securities. Four years later he was enticed to work for an Austin based corporate recruiter. One of the companies he recruited for was a Houston homebuilder. The opportunity to work hands on with a variety of trades and manage a project from a dirt lot to a family’s dream home intrigued him to change paths. While working for Village Builders in Houston he built four series of homes, from patio to estate homes. Later he was promoted to the Quality Assurance Manager of Houston. He trained and managed a team of Quality Assurance Inspectors. He also received his residential code home inspectors license (IRC License #5278330-B1). Steve worked as a code inspector and has inspected hundreds of foundation make-ups, frames & mechanicals, and final inspections for over 20 different production and custom builders. Combining the skills in the financial business, construction, quality management, and knowledge as a code inspector Steve has created a very dynamic process to building very high quality homes. Still very passionate about the industry he remains up to date with continuing education.
